Social Security has a program called “Extra Help” or “Low Income Subsidy”. Members that qualify will have lower costs for their outpatient prescriptions.
Some Medicare beneficiaries may be eligible for this program, but not know it. Call your local Social Security office at 1-800-772-1213 for information on how to apply. TTY users should call 1-800-325-0778. Social Security is available 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Members on a Medicare Retiree group plan may have different benefits. Check your plan year benefit grid or call Customer Service with questions. Be sure to let us know what retiree group you are with.
